Section 1 of 2

Our iPhone and iPad Apps

Every app we publish collects no data at all. There is no app in our catalog that collects more. Each of our App Store product pages carries Apple's "Data Not Collected" privacy label. That is the declaration we make to Apple, and it is the one we hold ourselves to here.

What This Means

• No accounts, no servers: We do not operate user accounts, and we run no servers that receive data from our apps. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to log in to, and nothing for us to store, hand over, or lose.
• Your data stays on your device: Everything you create in one of our apps (notes, inventories, logs, photos, projects, settings) is written to that app's storage on your iPhone or iPad and stays there.
• iCloud sync is yours, not ours: Where an app offers iCloud sync, your data moves between your own devices through your own Apple Account, in a private database that only you can reach. We have no access to it, cannot read it, and could not produce it if we were asked to.
• Location is used on your device only: Some of our apps genuinely need your location to do their job: recording a parking spot, logging a coordinate, showing your speed. That location is used on your device, for the feature you asked for. It is never transmitted to us, and we hold no record of anywhere you have been.
• Health data stays in the Health app: Where an app can read from or write to Apple Health, that exchange happens on your device between the app and Health, under permissions you grant and can revoke at any time in iOS Settings. We never receive it.
• Requests you start go straight to their destination: A few apps fetch something for you when you ask: a web page whose address you pasted, a book's details from its barcode, a public code repository, a street address for a coordinate, or map tiles. The service you asked for sees that request, exactly as it would in a browser. We are not part of it, we do not route it through anything of ours, and we do not log it.
• No analytics, no advertising, no tracking: Our apps contain no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not use Apple's Advertising Identifier, we never ask for permission to track you, and there is nothing in our apps for you to opt out of.
• Purchases are handled entirely by Apple: Paid apps, subscriptions, and in-app purchases go through the App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes the payment and holds the payment details; we never see your card, your billing address, or your Apple Account. Apple provides us only with anonymized, aggregated sales reports.
• Apple's optional developer sharing: If you have turned on "Share With App Developers" in iOS Settings, Apple may give us aggregated crash logs and usage statistics for our apps. Apple controls this entirely, the reports are not linked to you, and you can turn it off at any time under Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
• Permissions are for features, nothing more: When an app asks for the camera, your photo library, your location, or notifications, it is because a feature you are using needs it. The permission is used for that feature, on your device, and for nothing else. You can revoke any of them in iOS Settings.

We check this before every release, and we re-check it whenever Apple changes how apps may handle data. If an app of ours ever collects data contrary to what is stated here, please tell us using the contact details below and we will treat it as a bug.

This Website

The rest of this policy applies to lifeutilityapps.com, the site you are reading now, and not to the apps themselves. Unlike our apps, this website does collect a limited amount of information, and this section sets out exactly what.

What We Collect

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-KR3RXLBSYL) to understand which pages are useful and how people find us. Where analytics is active, Google collects the following on our behalf:

• Pages you view: The address, title, and referring address of each page you open on this site, and the order in which you move through them.
• Approximate location: Your IP address is used to derive an approximate location, typically at city or region level. Google Analytics does not retain it in a form we can see.
• Device and browser: Your device type, operating system, browser, screen size, and preferred language.
• A pseudonymous identifier: A randomly generated identifier, stored in a cookie in your browser, so that repeat visits can be counted as one visitor. It is not your name and it is not linked to any account.
• Engagement: How long a page stays open, how far you scroll, and clicks on links that lead off this site.

We do not collect your name, your email address, or anything else that identifies you personally, and we never attempt to work out who an individual visitor is. We run no advertising on this website, and we do not use analytics data to build advertising profiles.

Cookies and Browser Storage

Our own code sets no cookies at all. The small amount of information this site keeps in your browser is listed in full below.

The second and third entries are kept in your browser's local storage rather than as cookies, which means they are never transmitted anywhere: not to us, and not to anyone else. They are read only by the page you are on.

Your Choices

You are in control of the analytics described above.

• The banner: If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, analytics stays switched off until you choose. Nothing is measured before you decide, and declining costs you nothing. The whole site works either way.
• Cookie settings: Wherever in the world you are, the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page opens that same choice, at any time. Switching analytics off also deletes the analytics cookies already in your browser.
• Your browser: You can block or delete cookies for this site in your browser's settings, and most browsers offer a private or incognito mode that discards them when you close the window.

Google also publishes a browser add-on that switches off Google Analytics on every site you visit, if you would rather make the choice once and be done with it.

Cookie settings

Third-Party Services

Loading a page on this site necessarily involves a few other companies. Each receives your IP address, your browser's user agent, and the address of the page you are on. That is unavoidable for anything loaded over the internet. None of them receives anything else from us, and we have no arrangement with any of them to track you.

• Cloudflare: Hosts this website and serves every page. As our hosting provider it processes each request in order to deliver it, and sets its own security cookies.
• Google Analytics: Measures visits, as described above. Active only where you have allowed it.
• Google Forms: Our bug report, general contact, and translation feedback pages each embed a Google Form. Anything you type into one goes directly to Google and reaches us in our Google account; it never passes through this website.
• Google Sheets: Our roadmap and active-issues pages display a published Google spreadsheet, so opening one of those pages loads content from Google.
• Apple: App icons, screenshots, and the "Download on the App Store" badge load from Apple's servers, so Apple sees a request whenever an app page is opened.
• Flagpedia: Supplies the small flag images in the language picker, which sits in the header of every page.
• jsDelivr: Supplies a barcode-decoding component used only by the Transfer web tool, and only once you open it.

Hosting and Server Logs

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To serve a page, Cloudflare processes your IP address, your browser's user agent, the address you requested, and your browser's preferred language. The last of these is what sends you to the right translation when you arrive without one. This processing is necessary to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse, and we rely on our legitimate interest in doing so rather than on your consent. We keep no server logs of our own, and we operate no database.

When You Contact Us

Every contact route on this site is a Google Form. When you submit one, what you wrote goes to Google and arrives in our Google account. It is never sent to or stored on lifeutilityapps.com. Please share only what you need to in order to describe the problem: no field requires your real name, and you are welcome to use a pseudonym. We keep submissions for as long as it takes to resolve what you raised, and we use them for nothing else.

Legal Bases and Your Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation and its equivalents give you the rights below. Life Utility Apps, LLC is the controller for the processing described in this section. We rely on your consent for analytics, and on our legitimate interest in delivering and protecting the site for everything else.

• Access: Ask what personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
• Erasure: Ask us to delete it.
• Restriction: Ask us to stop using it while a question about it is resolved.
• Objection: Object to processing that we base on legitimate interest.
• Portability: Ask for a copy in a portable format.
• Withdrawing consent: Switch analytics off at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page. Withdrawing is as easy as consenting, and it does not affect anything measured beforehand.

In practice we hold very little that could identify you: no accounts, no mailing list, no database. Most requests will be answered by explaining precisely what does and does not exist. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

United States Privacy Rights

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act and the comparable laws of other states. We run no advertising on this site and we do not use analytics data for advertising. If you are in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another state with a similar law, you may exercise the rights that law gives you by contacting us, and you can switch analytics off at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page. We will not treat you differently for exercising a privacy right.

International Transfers

Life Utility Apps, LLC is based in the United States, and the services described above (Cloudflare, Google, Apple) process data in the United States and in other countries. Where information is transferred out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, those providers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where they take part in it, on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How Long Things Are Kept

We keep as little as possible, for as short a time as we can.

• Analytics: Google Analytics retains event-level data for a limited period set in our account, after which only aggregated reports remain. Nothing at that stage identifies an individual.
• Your analytics choice: Stored in your own browser for about a year, after which you will be asked again. Clearing your browser storage removes it immediately.
• Contact form submissions: Kept until whatever you raised is resolved, plus a short period in case you write back, and then deleted.
